Vevo Meets: Joyner Lucas Joyner Lucas grew up in Worcester, MA, and he grew up fast – at the age of seven, he was writing and rapping under the handle G-Storm, and hit a local studio to cut “Annihilate ‘em” when he was 11. He polished his craft through the years, taking pride in his vivid storytelling and piercing lyricism. A couple of years ago he dropped the ‘Along Came Joyner’ mixtape and impressed fans with the very intense video for “Ross Capicchioni,” which recounts the real-life story of a gang-related shooting. Now’s he’s followed it up with his debut full-length LP, '508-507-2209' (an actual phone number – call it for album info – the area code reps his hometown), featuring “I'm Sorry,” plus collabs with Mystikal, Snoh Aalegra and Stefflon Don. In our 'Vevo Meets' session, Joyner talks about his first instrument, being inspired by “day to day people,” why he loves the great outdoors. Don’t miss – especially if you want to hear a bit of a track that he recorded back in the day.
